Barista Training

Are you interested in up-skilling and learning how to make some great coffee?! 

Then we have the course for you – barista training!! If you take this 5 hour barista accredited course you will not only learn how to make great coffee (super awesome!), you will also receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment!

This barista training  course is only for students in Year 9-12 and costs $100.  If you want to see what it looks like, check out photos from the last barista training course we did!

Mosman Youth Services organise this course annually subject to demand. To find out when the next course will be going ahead, contact youth@mosman.nsw.gov.au and keep an eye on this page.

Date:  Saturday 25th November
Location: CBD College (Meet at Mosman Youth Centre first)
Address: 10/428 George Street, Sydney
Time: 9am – 4.30pm (Meeting at the Mosman Youth Centre at 9am)
Duration: 5 hour course (10am-3.30pm)
WhoStudents from Year 9-12 (available to other ages 12-25 upon request)

COST: $100 (normally $129)

    Accredited Barista Training Course

    Need a job? Love coffee? or Just want to learn new skills? 

    If this is you, get onto this Accredited Barista Training! Mosman Youth Services will once again take a group of people determined to develop their practical work skills, over to CBD College to complete and attain a certificate as a barista. Completing a barista course is a great way to enter the job market with a nationally recognized certificate.

    If you are serious about getting a job as a barista then thisw Nationally Recognised barista course is for you. This 5 hour barista course results in a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment bearing the units of competency SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee and SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety (issued by CBD College, RTO# 91399). In addition you will get a 2 hour 'Latte Art' class to learn how to create a masterpiece finish to the perfect cup!  Some prior online work is required to achieve the accreditation (an email will be sent to you with the details prior to the course)

    Determined to get a part time or casual job at a cafe?

    Mosman Youth Services will once again take a group of young people determined to develop their practical work skills, over to CBD College to complete and attain a certificate as a barista. Completing a barista course is a great way for a young person to enter the job market with a nationally recognized certificate. In this 3 hour course,  you will learn how to identify all the key variables that go into making espresso-based coffee and the steps with putting all of those variables together at speed to make excellent finished coffees.

    Keen to be more employable?

    Looking for a casual or part time job is challenging, especially if you have not yet developed the experience or attained the credentials for your resume. Each year, Mosman Youth Services offer a nationally accredited barista course to help local young people develop practical skills and attain a nationally recognized certificate to help them in the job market.

    Learn from world class baristas as you discover how to froth milk, create the perfect espresso and make all the different type of coffees you would buy in a cafe. You’ll also get the chance to learn what goes into cleaning and maintaining coffee machines and pick up many other helpful tips along the way.

      Thanks for the inquiry Tiffany. Yes!!! The last Barista course was so awesome of course we’re going to do another one. We are looking to organise one at the end of this term, so be sure to check the site for updates. cheers.
