Radio Workshops – get practical and theoretical experience in radio



Interested in radio producing, announcing, interviewing and programming? Want to know what goes on behind the scenes in a radio station?  Then this opportunity is for you…

Funded by a Mosman Council Community Grant*, Northside Radio now has an exciting opportunity for 6 young people aged between 16-22 years^ to go through their radio workshops program for free! 

Basic info on the programs: 

This program will cover both theoretical and practical modules which have been designed to introduce and create confidence in producing, announcing, interviewing, writing and programming content for radio.  Trainers with a depth of on air and production experience will guide participants through the theory of developing a radio segment and/or program, best practice interview techniques, and the practical skills in delivering an engaging radio segment or show live on air. Each training session will include practical workshop exercises finishing with opportunities for live on air experience at Northside Radio FM99.3

Specifically this involves:

  • 3 x 2 hour modules (theory)
  • 3 x 2 hour modules (practical)
  • Additional 3 hours individual booked studio time for those who wish to come back for further 1 on 1 time practical training

When are the programs?

The dates and times may be flexible depending on participants and trainer availabilities. At this point they will be looking to start the 2nd week of May and holding the modules from either 4.30pm-6.30pm or 6.00pm-8.00pm on a Tuesday and Thursday for 3 weeks. Following this one on one time in studios can be arranged.

*Because this has been funded by a Mosman Council Community Grant places for Mosman residents will be prioritized but it is open to young people outside of Mosman. ^This age category could potentially be negotiable, you would need to discuss this with Northside Radio.
