School Holidays

Drop in, relax and enjoy our flexible school holiday program! Bring along some mates to share the vibes with activities, our usual drop-in space, cooking and more. This program is for high school aged young people and students in year 6 with specific workshops and activities available on certain days and our usual drop in open throughout the period.

 

If you plan on joining in the fun, please register to reserve your spot for activities. WEEK 1: Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 April 2023

Monday 10 April - CLOSED (PUBLIC HOLIDAY)

Tuesday 11 April - Pizza & Movie Night

Open from 12pm | Movies 4-7pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Drop in from 12pm to hang out at the centre and stick around for our movie night and free pizza in the hub space starting at 4pm. The movie will be chosen based on group suggestions and a democratic vote. Get cosy, pull up a beanbag & relax with a chill movie night! Popcorn & pizza will be provided, free of charge. Registration required.

Wednesday 12 April - Drop In (+ Bush to Bowl Workshop)

Drop In 11am - 5:30pm | Bush to Bowl 4-5:30pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Drop in, relax and enjoy our flexible summer holiday program, bring along some mates to share the vibes. We will be holding a Bush to Bowl Workshop from 4-5:30pm which is part of our Bush to Bowl 4 week program. Please use the separate registration form here if you'd like to join the workshops, otherwise come on by and enjoy the variety of games and activities we have available everyday!

Thursday 13 April - Beyond the Gloves (Boxing Program)

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Boxing 2pm & 3:15pm sessions @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Following our successful Term 1 program, we are bringing boxing back to the centre with workshops that build resilience, confidence and skills with coach Georgie Furze. We'll start with a group mentoring session then pair up using gloves and pads to learn some basic boxing skills in a safe and controlled environment. Please wear comfortable clothing, enclosed shoes (ideally trainers) and bring a positive attitude. Registration required 2pm or 3:15pm session (if we have space, you are welcome to join both).

Friday 14 April - Cooking & Dough Day

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 11:15am or 2pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Today we’ll be making our own dough from scratch making some fresh bread and tasty delights. Learn some basic cooking skills and enjoy the fruits of your labour. If you plan to be here over lunchtime we still recommend bringing along something to eat (or be prepared to venture out to buy a snack) to ensure you have a balanced meal during the day. Registration required - 11:15am or 2pm session.

Monday 17 April - Tie-Dye Tote Bags

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 12pm or 3pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Grab a free tote bag and dye it in your unique style! We'll have a range of dye colours available and can guide you with how to get that perfect sunburst spiral. If you'd prefer to dye a white (or light coloured) piece of clothing you have lying around at home, please bring that along too 🙂
Registration required - 12pm session or 3pm session.
 

Tuesday 18 April - Pizza & Movie Night + Art Workshop

Drop in from 12pm and get involved in a free Art Therapy Workshop at 3pm where we will get stuck into some creative mediums again! Stick around for our week 2 movie night and free pizza in the hub space. The movie will be chosen based on group suggestions and a democratic vote. Thursday 20 April - Console Comp
Drop In 11am - 5pm | Competition Draw @ 12:30pm. Comp Starts from 1pm
Mosman Youth Centre / Creation Space. Free to join
Today we will be using our big Prowise Screen as well as the facilities in the Creation Space to host an epic gaming competition. Comp games include: Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Boomerang Fu and More. Please arrive by 12:30pm so we can allocate your game time and comp draw! More details including prizes to be announced soon!

Friday 21 April - Acknowledgement of Country Youth Workshop

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Workshop 2-4pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Learn about Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country with Aunty Suzie from the Gaimaragal Group. Together we'll help create a Acknowledgement of Country to the traditional owners of the land where Mosman Youth Centre is located, the Borogegal and Cammeraygal people, that we can use for programs and events in the space moving forward. Please note pizza will be provided.

Our school holiday programs are facilitated and supervised by youth workers, with trained facilitators. All external facilitators require a cleared Working with Children Check and to adhere to Council’s Child Safety Policy. Please wear comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes in the centre. We have light snacks available to purchase however we recommend bringing along lunch each day, or be prepared to venture out to purchase lunch. 

 

Our programs are “Drop-In” in nature, meaning participants can come and go as they please. Young people will be supervised when participating in programs while at the Youth Centre, however a young person may decide to leave centre at any time and Council does not take responsibility for young people once they have left the centre.
