School Holidays

Get involved in some fun activities with Mosman Youth over the school holidays. Activities are for high school aged young people to hang out with friends in a safe and inclusive drop-in environment. We run a variety of activities and workshops such as art and creative workshops, games, wellbeing sessions and more. 


Spring Youth School Holiday Program will run Monday to Friday from 26 September to 7 October.

Our program will include a range of recreational and wellbeing activities, alongside our usual Drop-In space at the Youth Centre. Please check back on Thursday 18 August for our full program. In the meantime check out what we got up to in our last program below.

Week One: 4th - 8th July

Monday 4th July - Video Game/ Table Top Competition Day 

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 12pm - 3pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Drop-In on Monday for a day of games around the youth centre. From pool to smash bros to table tennis to Just Dance; compete in a range of activities on the day to accrue points for prizes. The competition medley will start from 12pm and will end at approximately 3pm. 

Tuesday 5th July - Drop In + Pottery Day

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 2pm - 4pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
We’ll be using our creative dexterity today to work clay and make ceramics! Back due to popular demand, our pottery workshop will have limited spaces so be sure to book early if you’re interested in this one. We’ll be led by a talented external facilitator Eriko who will be taking the class from 2pm – 4pm. Please note that this activity can only accommodate 10 participants, so early booking is recommended. If you are unable to attend on the day, please reach out to us as early as possible so we can reallocate your spot.
 

Wednesday 6th July - Food Workshop (Pasta)

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 12.00pm - 2.00pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
A masterclass in pasta based cuisine, we’ll be making a range of sauces and pasta types in this workshop to create a variety of tasty dishes for lunch. The cooking will kick off from 12pm and we’ll judge dishes based on presentation before getting tucked in! 

Thursday 7th July - Bush Tucker – Botanic Gardens

To honour NAIDOC week, we’re headed off to The Royal Botanic Gardens to find out about native species- more specifically native plants of the edible variety! Facilitated through the Cadi Jam Ora garden, the group will engage with Indigenous bush foods; learning about how they were used traditionally as well as how they’ve been adapted to modern cuisine. We’ll even get to taste some bush tucker goodies ourselves! This activity can only accommodate 10 participants, so early booking is recommended. Friday 8th July - Cricut Printing/ Drop In 

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 2pm - 4pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Explore what we can make with the Cricut machine at the Creation Space by the Mosman Library! We will be making vinyl stickers & also ironable stickers for you to cement your design to tote bags or other materials including a range of clothing.  

Week Two: 11th - 15th July

Monday 11th July - Drop In

Drop In 11am - 5pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
A day to completely chill out at the Youth Centre! Our consoles, music room, tabletop games & breakout space will all be completely at your disposal today to use. Depending on the group we may have an impromptu baking/gardening/jam session. Bring the tribe, come & vibe & let us what you’d like to do! 

Tuesday 12th July - Drum Circle + Guided Meditation

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 12pm - 2pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
From 12pm we will be holding a drum circle at the Youth Centre to help shake out some of the leftover frenetic energy from the term. A productive & active way to vent stress and decompress as well as being an amazing tool for collaborative creation. After we wear ourselves out on the drums, we’ll enter a guided meditation session to centre and focus on highlights from the last term as well as align goals for the future.  

Wednesday 13th July - Dungeons & Dragons Design Day

Back due to popular demand, we’ll be delivering an immersive day of Dungeons & Dragons. Starting at the Youth Centre, design and dress up as your very own fantasy adventurers. After exploring the realms of worldbuilding, mapmaking and dungeon mastery, we'll be having a tasty D & D themed feast! Back at the youth centre you'll have a short adventure with your characters and develop a healthy thirst for adventure. 

Thursday 14th July - Therapy Dogs

Drop In 11am - 5pm | Activity 2pm - 4pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
We reached out to Paws PET Therapy and they were happy to facilitate a day of furry goodness at the Youth Centre! From 2 - 4pm there will be accredited therapy doggos helping everyone destress, rest & nurture their wellbeing within the safe space. These dogs will take you from feeling ruff to feeling like anything is pawsible, it’s the leashed we can do! This activity can only accommodate 20 participants, so early booking is recommended. If you are unable to attend on the day, please reach out to us as early as possible so we can reallocate your spot.

Friday 15th July - PJ Movie Day

Drop In 12pm - 7pm | Activity 4.30pm @ Mosman Youth Centre. Free to join
Drop In doors will be opening a little later today- from 12pm. Movies will start approximately at 4.30pm and will be chosen based on group suggestions and a democratic vote. Get cosy in your pajamas & curl up to wind down the holidays with a chill movie night! Popcorn & pizza will be provided, free of charge.  

Our school holiday programs (online and in-person) are facilitated and supervised by youth workers, with trained facilitators. All external facilitators require a cleared Working with Children Check and to adhere to Council’s Child Safety Policy.


Our programs are “Drop-In” in nature, meaning participants can come and go as they please. Young people will be supervised when participating in programs while at the Youth Centre, however a young person may decide to leave centre at any time.
