Social Inclusion Week Australia runs from November 25-December 3!

Social Inclusion Week is about encouraging communities to reconnect and be inclusive of all cultures, age groups, nationalities and the disadvantaged. It’s about connecting with local communities, school mates, family and friends to build relationships and networks, addressing isolation and exclusion by supporting people who might be unable help themselves.

This year’s theme is:

   CONNECT

COLLABORATE

CELEBRATE

So what are some ways we can promote social inclusion in our own lives?

Reach out to those around you – in any way you can – ‘think less about me, and more about we’. You could reach out through volunteering with a local organisation or charity.

Start a dialogue – start talking and promoting social inclusion in your dialogcommunity – whether that be at school, at community clubs, among friends or on social media  – think about how you can encourage social inclusion, or raise awareness.

Celebrate diversity – promote and create opportunities to celebrate diversity in our community and to acknowledge the unique contribution of all members of society. Be creative!
