Green Thumbs (Community Gardeners)
Are you interested in gardening, horticulture and creating engaging community spaces using ecological design principles?
Green Thumbs are a group of avid gardeners and ecological enthusiasts committed to developing the Mosman Youth Centre community garden, and creating an engaging green space for young people and the Mosman community to enjoy.
The Green Thumbs volunteer group are looking for garden enthusiasts who may or may not have experience gardening, but have a passion for creating and maintaining engaging community spaces. Led by our staff garden guru Chris, the team aim to redevelop the youth centre garden space to ultimately provide fruit, vegetables & herbs for the centre to use. Coupled with this, the team will be developing various aspects of the garden including sustainable compost and watering systems and campaigns to encourage young people to divert food waste using compost and worm farms.
Group Commitment: 1 hour per week thoughout the school term, meeting every Thursday afternoon 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Mosman Youth Centre
Individual Commitment: Approximately 4 hours per month as a minimum however commitment will vary depending on projects.
