Are you aged 14 – 21 and interested in volunteering in some great youth initiatives with your local community?

Mosman Youth is now accepting applications for its volunteering programs! We have a variety of different volunteering opportunities including View Finders (Environmental Sustainability), Youth Media Campaigners, and Vocal Rewind (Music Events) however due to high demand, Vocal Rewind is currently all full up! The View Finders group still has a few places available, and the Youth Media Campaigners is a brand new group beginning this term – so we are looking for a variety of talented individuals to start it off with a bang!

Youth Media Campaigners is a brand new volunteer group, the likes of which have been never seen before! As the voice of Mosman Youth, the campaigners team will aim to raise awareness around relevant youth issues such as mental health awareness, and communicate information, opportunities and events to the youth of Mosman. The team will draw on a variety of information technologies and media skills to do this, incorporating photography, blogging, social media, design, and more! We are looking for young people with a variety of interests relating to media. If you’re a budding photographer, amateur film maker, blogger, social media guru or just have an interest in media and communications with a passion for youth issues then this group is for you!  Commitment = 1 hour per week during school term, meeting every Thursday 4:30pm to 5:30pm

View Finders is all about environmental sustainability and working on projects that raise awareness around environmental issues in our local community. Throughout the first half of the year, the View Finders team has successfully built a sustainable, edible garden at the Mosman Youth Centre, with the hopes of expanding this project inside the youth centre with a green wall this term. The group tackles a variety of environmental issues, and get to learn some tricks along the way with the help of industry professional and environmental gurus. The group is already made up of a formidable team of environmental enthusiasts, however we are welcoming new members with a passion for the environment and a creative flare to boot! Commitment = 1 hour per week during school term, meeting every Wednesday 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Mosman Youth Centre.

For both groups there may be a few additional hours required (e.g. when building the green wall, or working on a new video campaign). Overall however, every member will be expected to volunteer approximately 12 hours over the term. These volunteer hours will go towards your Duke of Ed., CAS requirements or just your general awesomeness rating!

Sign up now to join one of these great teams!
