BlogThe Young Entrepreneurs' Hub

Thank you for your support and contributions to The Young Entrepreneurs’ Hub in 2018. Before 2018 ends, we would like to share what’s happened this year and what to except for 2019 with our Hub.

What you told us

We interviewed and surveyed youth in the local area what they would like to see in the space. These are some of the ideas we heard.

  • Free Speedy Wi-fi
  • Quiet space
  • Cool furniture
  • Opportunities to meet successful business leaders
  • Personal Mentor
  • Keep the pool table and table tennis
  • Skills development program

.

And in response this is what we have done so far

Pilot Workshop – Design thinking workshop with Stephen Rutter

We invited Stephen Rutter from The Scale Instittute who has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to entrepreneurship and business skills. Stephen facilitated a sprint design thinking workshop to teach creative problem solving skills. Free pizza was provided and the workshop turned out to be a great opportunitiy to develop new mindset and skills and to network with new faces.

Revamping the Youth Centre

Currently, the Youth Centre is being revamped to provide a new co-working hub and new facilities. We now have speedy wifi installed and renovations are done to create a quiet breakout space with sliding glass doors. We will be having new furnitures to go with the new space.

Coming Up 2019

From February 2019 this space will be available to young people aged 17-25 every weekday 10am-3pm.

Alongside new décor, desks with power boards, speedy wifi and ongoing entrepreneur workshops, there will opportunities for young people to receive mentoring from local business leaders. Watch this space for more updates.
