On August 10, 2016 View Finders volunteers will undertake a beach clean up for Clifton Gardens Reserve.

This is a part of a new council initiative to help clean up the local beaches and involves integrating the community to help with the efforts, where volunteers are provided with safety gear, garbage bags and a rubbish handler. When the rubbish has been collected the idea is to collate the amount of rubbish gathered in order to gather research on the quality of our beaches, so that we may further help them.

After a workshop by marine conservationist Tim Silverwood on the 3rd of August, View Finders will be pioneering this new initiative, and is inviting YOU to offer your support. Collecting rubbish from our beaches is imperative to marine conservation and makes beach-going all the more enjoyable, while the research collected will help council allocate resources to further clean up our beaches.

When: 4pm-5pm Wednesday the 10th of August

Where: Clifton Gardens Reserve (meet near the restroom building)

Bring gardening gloves (to protect your hands) and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty if possible, but we’ll have some spare gloves if needed.

Join us and lend a hand!

If you’d like to get involved or find out more about the group or the beach clean up email a.tierney@mosman.nsw.gov.au
